What is the National Defence Academy (NDA)?
National Defence Academy is located in Khadak Vasala Pune, basically NDA is a joint service organization, what is it, it is a joint service organization where training of joint defence services is done, so here any child who wants to become an officer in the army, whether in the Indian Army, Indian Navy I want to join the Indian Air Force.

Understanding the NDA Exam
The students who are going to ask about ANDEC is basically a national level exam which is conducted by the UPSC Union Public Services Commission twice a year. This is an exam which is conducted by 12th appearing and 12th passed students.

The special thing about this exam is that about 10 to 12 students appear in this exam in a year because the exam is held twice, so in both the cases, about 10 to 12 students appear in this exam and what makes this exam even more special is its success rate.
Out of the total students, only 7000-8000 students qualify each exam and even after that if you look at the selection ratio, these students fight for only 400+ seats and out of that only 5 out of 100 get selected. The success rate of this exam is between 5-7% which makes it special and lucrative in itself and why not, this exam is lucrative.
Career After NDA
Let us discuss about how to join the exam and then move ahead on that. So what do you become after joining the exam? You can become a commissioned officer in the Indian Army, Indian Navy, or Indian Air Airforce. What is bigger than that is that just after passing the 12th class, you become financially stable. So you will be able to do this, followed by that. If you want a sense of duty, a sense of right, and security for the family, then the National Defence Academy and NA examination is the only way after 12th. When you crack an exam, go through the whole process, and finally, when you kiss the success, all the doors open for you.
How to Join NDA
Now the question comes, how can we join this exam? How can we appear? What is the process? so let’s discuss it. Whatever boys or whatever girls are in 12th this time, then 12th-appearing boys and 12th-passed.
NDA Notification and Exam Schedule
I will also tell you the subject to eligibility criteria later. All of them are eligible for this exam. You see what the process is? The process is that the Union Public Service Commission issues notification every year, so UPSC issues notification sometimes twice a year, sometimes once for NDA-1. When the first exam is held, it is called NDA-1.
So when does your NDA-1 exam take place? The NDA-1 exam is conducted every year in the month of April, and the NDA-2 exam is conducted every year in the month of September. The notification of NDA-1 is released in the previous year of December, and the notification comes in December, so this exam is conducted in April.
I hope it is clear till here what happens next: a notification comes, or you apply for the exam. After applying, brother, it is obvious that your admit card will come, and you will appear in a written exam. So after the written exam, when you select the written exam, you will come to apply. After writing the exam, its result comes, and then this number becomes 80000. Now 8000 children are called for the SSB interview.

Eligibility Criteria
So let us now talk about the eligibility criteria. Okay, so the most important factor in the eligibility of the exam, I have written it first, is your age criteria because if you are a woman or a man.
Age Limit
And the most strict in defense exams is their age limit, unlike other exams where you can give the exam even at a very late age, but it is not so here because to join the army, a mindset is required from the military mindset.
You have many qualities that are trained that are not trainable, so you are a strange mixture of those 15 officer-like qualities because factor 1, factor 2, factor 3, factor 4 are all those qualities on the basis of which you are selected. When you get a recommendation in your SSB interview, then there is a rule for all those things.
If you want to give the written exam, then you can give the written exam from the age of 15.5 to 18.5 years, and to join, you have to give the written exam. The age for NDA should be 16.5 to 19.5 years. To be more specific, the age limit is definitely mentioned in every year’s NDA notification, so you can review it. So if you are 19.5 years old, you can join the NDA.
But if you want to apply for the written exam, then why am I saying 18 years? Because if you apply for the written exam in 18 years, then it takes almost a year for the notification to come, for giving the written exam, for getting the call-up for the SSB interview, for cracking the SSB interview, for getting medical, for making the merit list—all 18 years.
Who Can Apply? (Stream-wise Eligibility)
The best thing is, I just said in the beginning of the video that you should be 12th pass or 12th appearing; you can crack this exam, and you can apply.
Why did I not say which stream student? Because whether you are from PCM, PCB, Commerce, or Humanities, this exam is for all of you, so this is the beauty of this exam. Let’s see what is the eligibility criteria are.
Because I have already told you. I am sure that you can apply for the tri-services in the NDA examination. Whether you want to become an officer in the army, navy, or air force, NDA is the only option after 12th because what happens in NDA is your training.
Educational Requirements for Army, Navy, and Air Force
So now let us see if you want to apply for the army. What is your eligibility? You should have passed 12th class. The 10+2 pattern is fine from any recognized school that is affiliated with a state education board or university.
I mean, whether you are 12th appearing from PCM, PCB, Commerce, Humanities, or any recognized institute, you can apply for the Indian Army, followed by that second thing. If you want to apply for the Navy, then there is a little bit of work in it.
There is a lot of need of people, so all the technical-based jobs are in the Indian Navy, so here the students who have PCM are eligible to apply for the Indian Navy. Thirdly, in the Indian Air Force, there is also PCM banking.
If you are from PCM, then you have options open in the Army, Navy, and Air Force. If you are not from PCM, then you have the option of the Indian Army, which is available. Second, candidates who are appearing in class 12 can also apply for this exam. This is a better thing because in class 12.
